Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and support our business lending staff and business member borrowers. At Dakotaland FCU we seek to partner with our business members and help support their business from day-to-day operations to larger growth and expansion projects. A business loan processor assists members by preparing loan documents, member documentation, and maintaining organized business files and records. A qualified candidate will also take time to answer member questions and build personal connections with our members.
Job Expectations:
- Gather background information on members applying for business loans and establish electronic recordkeeping. Maintain organization and required documentation of business loan files.
- Assist members with the application process in person, on the phone or electronically. Answer member questions related to business loans or direct members to loan officers.
- Complete necessary lien and corporation searches. Order market analysis, appraisals, or title insurance. Review title insurance for issues and track receipt of final title policy
- Verify the accuracy of business loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications. Prepare the closing package, researching and resolving all items in the closing package to ensure closing is timely and documentation is complete and accurate.
- Generate correct loan documentation needed for corresponding business type.
- Meet with members to sign and notarize loan documentation as needed.
- Book loans to core system and fund loans when approved.
- Record and track mortgages and addendums. File UCCs and continuations; ensure lien position on vehicle titles. Track P/C insurance, flood insurance and force placed insurance.
- Send monthly letters to members (payment reminders, renewal letters and annual reviews). Assist electronic services department and business loan officers with NSF/Overdrafts.
- Process paid loans and release corresponding collateral as directed by business lending team.
- Manage and prepare weekly and monthly reports; balance MBL general ledgers.
Skills and Experience:
- Must possess good judgment and be able to evaluate processes, procedures, and situations and make good decisions.
- Expected to stay up to date on all business lending services and explain those to members on a general basis. Must comply with policies and regulations and be adaptable to industry changes.
- Must have exceptional communication skills and a desire to interact with the public.
- Must be a highly productive person with ability to manage multiple duties concurrently.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work successfully both independently, and with a team.
- Ability to exhibit confidentiality, patience, courtesy, and tact when providing assistance and service to members and collaborating with coworkers.
- Applicant must have at least one year of experience in banking, lending, or in a highly analytical position.
Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to occasionally lift/transport up to 10 pounds at a time. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Environment is primarily indoor.
